Biography
Dr. Steven Stehr is the Sam Reed Distinguished Professor in Civic Education and Public Civility in the School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs at Washington State University where he has been a faculty member for over 30 years. He has served as the Director of the School, Chair of the Department of Political Science, and he was the first director of the Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service. Steven’s work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Research Council, the National Academy of Sciences, the Century Foundation, and Humanities Washington. Dr. Stehr received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
