Gender Equality in Prison Reform in Spain

On Oct. 14, visiting scholar Ana Ballesteros-Pena from Complutense University Madrid (Spain) presented a guest lecture on gender and policy on prisons and immigration detention. On Oct. 29, she led a roundtable discussion at the Foley Institute on “Gender Equality Behind Bars, A Comparative Policy Perspective,” with co-authors Maria Bustelo, also from Madrid, and Amy Mazur, PPPA professor emerita. Faith Lutze from the Dept. of Criminal Justice and Criminology, served as discussant.
